How do I update the BMW Motorrad app?
If no app update is pending, the app opens a pop-up window with a note about available updates. Attention: The button Updates is only visible if updates are available. Note: BMW Motorrad recommends to check your maps for updates under Map downloads before longer journeys. When a new version becomes available, you’re notified on the My BMW App and Central Information Display in your BMW. Simply download the update on your mobile device, or directly to your vehicle. Then, when your vehicle is parked run the installation at a convenient time.Below the map, you will see the address of the vehicle position, the time of the last update. If you click Show route then Route on foot to my BMW details are provided. Please note: You must have consented to vehicle tracking in your BMW.

What happened to the BMW Connected app?
Attention all customers, As from the 30th of June, 2021, the ‘BMW Connected’ app will become ineffective and will be replaced by the new ‘My BMW’ app. If you were already using the BMW Connected app, then all you have to do is download the new app from the app store and log into your account – It’s as simple as that! For security reasons, the BMW ID is temporarily blocked when the password has been entered incorrectly several times. Request a new password for your BMW ID via the Forgot password link on the login page of the My BMW App or the My BMW portal (the Person / profile icon in the top right of the BMW website).To create a new BMW ID, select Register on the login page of the My BMW App or the My BMW portal. Enter your login data and personal details and save your input by clicking on Register now.In BMW ConnectedDrive countries, the BMW ID is the personal login for all relevant offers from the BMW brand. The BMW ID can be used in the vehicle to store and activate personal vehicle settings in a driver profile. The vehicle can store seven BMW IDs.
What is the difference between my BMW app and BMW Connected app?
BMW ConnectedDrive is a digital platform that allows for an extensive portfolio of features, while the My BMW App is a smartphone app that allows access to some of those remote features, like vehicle locater, remote engine start, and BMW Digital Key. After purchase, the vehicle will have the Remote Engine Start option for as long as technically capable by using the remote key fob. However, an active ConnectedDrive subscription is required to use the Remote Engine Start feature from the My BMW App.The Remote Engine Start feature is available for purchase on most model year 2019 and newer vehicles with an automatic transmission, a 4 or 6 cylinder internal combustion engine, and an active ConnectedDrive account linked to the vehicle.
