Edwards has worked in motor sector for 40 years working in the automotive industry, culminating in a 20-year career with Sytner Group, the past 10 years as CEO. As you may be aware, Sytner Group purchased the Specialist Cars Group BMW & MINI Centres on 1st April 2022. Specialist Cars, who represent BMW and MINI in Stevenage, Luton and Tring have been under the ownership of Clive Fletcher and Michael Donavan since an MBO in 1999. As you may be aware Sytner recently purchased Rybrook Group, who represent BMW in Shrewsbury, Warwick, Worcester and Wolverhampton. Who bought Sytner?
On 12 February 2002, Sytner Group was itself acquired by American-based motor retailer United Auto Group (UAG) in a $135 million deal. January 2024 We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to acquire Rybrook Group Limited. As part of the acquisition 15 premium franchises will join Sytner Group on 8 January 2024. This is a significant addition to Sytner Group and we are excited to be welcoming new colleagues into the group!
