Who is Sytner owned by?
Under the ownership of Penske Automotive Group, Sytner Group has continued to flourish, becoming the UK’s largest and most successful car dealership group. The Detroit-based UnitedAuto Group has agreed to pay $135 million in cash and assume $20 million in debt for Sytner Group, a chain of about 48 dealerships based in Leicester, England. Founded by retired British racing champion Frank Sytner, the publicly traded company has annual sales of about $850 million.

Sytner Group continued its growth in 2017 with acquisition of Trainer BMW and MINI in Swansea. Celebrating 40 years of business in 2016, all 100 Trainer staff members transferred to Sytner Group within the move. The acquisition saw Sytner Group’s total count of BMW and MINI dealerships rise to 17 for each brand. As you may be aware Sytner recently purchased Rybrook Group, who represent BMW in Shrewsbury, Warwick, Worcester and Wolverhampton.
