What is BMW CarData?
BMW CarData refers to telematics data that your BMW vehicle collects as part of BMW ConnectedDrive Services, sends to the BMW server and stores there. You can also grant third parties access to BMW CarData. You can revoke this access at any time. For vehicles equipped with Personal eSIM, BMW does not charge any additional or recurring costs for Personal eSIM hardware in the vehicle. However, additional costs may be charged to your mobile plan by your mobile provider when adding your Personal eSIM to your mobile plan.The Personal eSIM integrates your BMW into your existing mobile communications contract and qualifies your vehicle for the 5G mobile radio standard. You can use it to make calls in the vehicle without your smartphone and to stream data via the Wi-Fi hotspot.The SIM card is permanently built into your vehicle as part of the BMW TeleServices equipment option. This makes it accident-proof and able to assist you even in difficult situations.The Personal eSIM enables telephone calls and data streaming in your BMW even if your smartphone is not in the vehicle or if it is switched off. You must activate the Personal eSIM for your BMW ID once in the My BMW portal, in the My BMW App and in the BMW iDrive.
What is BMW car data?

Does BMW collect driving data?

How to request BMW car data?
Direct access to the telematics data of your vehicle is not possible. You can request a BMW CarData data archive for your vehicle via the My BMW portal. The BMW CarData data archive contains the telematics data that your vehicle transmits to BMW servers. The My BMW App is available for both iOS and Android operating systems and can be downloaded free of charge via the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.The download and use of the BMW Motorrad Connected App is free of charge. Please note that for the data connections of the BMW Motorrad Connected App, for example, the data rate of your smartphone is used for navigation or music streaming and costs may be incurred depending on the available data volume.
