What cars does Simon Kidston own?
Personal life. Kidston is an avid car collector, with his collection including a 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Cabriolet originally built for his father. Kidston buys back vehicles his family previously owned, including a Gipsy Moth racing biplane his father flew in New Zealand 75 years prior. Kidston was born in September 1967, the son of Commander Home Kidston, a retired naval officer who owned and raced cars. His uncle was Bentley Boy Glen Kidston, the record-breaking aviator and motor racing driver. His cousin is the fashion designer and businesswoman Cath Kidston.
What does Simon find out?
What does Simon find when he finally reaches the Beast? He discovers the truth that the beast is actually a dead pilot. After he helps where he can, Simon likes to go off and meditate alone in his hidden glade. While the others are scared of a beast in the forest, Simon knows the real monster is the darkness within the boys.In Lord of the Flies, Simon was crucified through a beating from the rest of the boys. He was on his way to tell the boys about his revelation that what they thought was the beast was actually a downed parachutist. The boys mistook him for the beast, causing them to beat him to death.
What does Simon turn into?
After drinking a blue drink, while with Isabelle, Simon turned into a rat and was taken by a vampire, thinking he was one of theirs. The demon did as they asked, but wanted something in return. Asmodeus wanted Simon’s immortality and memories. Therefore, after the demon brought them back to their realm, Simon would remember nothing of them, and would no longer be a Daylighter vampire; he would be a mundane again.
What does Simon volunteer to do?
Simon volunteers to cross the island alone to inform Piggy that the others won’t be home until after dark. By the time they reach the base of the mountain, darkness has fallen. The boys have lost all control and thinking he is the Beast, they kill Simon – even Ralph and Piggy are involved. That night, Simon’s body is carried out to sea.Simon helps Ralph with the shelters, and even supports Piggy when the other boys bully him. Simon is the first character to suspect that all is not well on the island and thinks that the nightmares experienced by the younger boys show that it isn’t a good place.After his encounter with The Lord of the Flies (which was in reality a hallucination caused by his epilepsy), he went to find the rest of the boys and warn them.Twice in the novel, Simon has epileptic fits, and in the second, he hallucinates the Lord of the Flies is talking to him.
