What are mobility cars?
If you receive a benefit because you have a disability or illness that makes it hard for you to get around, you can use it to pay for a vehicle from a charity called Motability. You can choose from lots of different vehicles, for example cars, mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs. Cars that are adapted for people with disabilities can be referred to in many ways. These vehicles are often referred to as handicap vans, however, they can also be called wheelchair vans, accessible vans, or wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs).

This could include hire car fines, speeding tickets, stopped allowances in arrears or unpaid recovery costs.If you decide not to lease another car, you can return the vehicle at the end of your lease and leave the scheme. There are several reasons to hand back a Motability car early, including changes in personal circumstances or no longer needing a vehicle.
