What does RENNtech stand for?
Feyhl named the company RENNtech, combining the German word for racing renn and technology, and continued to service AMG’s North American customer base from Florida while maintaining a connection to AMG’s headquarters, and Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher. We founded AMG out of a conviction for passion. Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher laid the foundation for AMG in 1967, their minds set on racing success. They teamed up to optimize engine performance and became involved in motorsport.The name AMG is derived from the initials of Aufrecht, Melcher, and Großaspach (Aufrecht’s birthplace). In 1976, the majority of AMG’s operations moved to Affalterbach, with racing-engine development remaining in Burgstall.AMG – these three letters stand worldwide for supreme automotive performance, exclusiveness, efficiency and highly dynamic driving pleasure. Today, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, the Affalterbach-based company represents the sporting spearhead of the Group.

Our modifications do not override any of the vehicles safety functions, nor does it interfere with any built in protection features from the factory so you can rest assured your performance tune will provide you with years of trouble free enjoyment. Performance modifications like upgrading the exhaust system or tuning the engine are allowed, but they must comply with emission standards and safety regulations.
