Is my BMW app free?
The My BMW App is available for both iOS and Android operating systems and can be downloaded free of charge via the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. BMW Digital Premium is a bundle of additional digital features and connectivity for the BMW Operating System 9. This includes enhanced BMW Maps functions, entertainment features like music streaming and gaming as well as access to an in-car app store with third-party apps.BMW’s ConnectedDrive system utilizes GPS tracking to locate vehicles, recover stolen cars, and provide various remote services.
Are BMW updates free?
With free software updates, your BMW stays up to date. Keep your BMW up to date with Remote Software Upgrades after purchase. Once you have downloaded a Remote Software Upgrade to your smartphone via the My BMW App, you can transfer it from there to your BMW. You must connect your smartphone via Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi in the vehicle.After purchase, the vehicle will have the Remote Engine Start option for as long as technically capable by using the remote key fob. However, an active ConnectedDrive subscription is required to use the Remote Engine Start feature from the My BMW App.
Is my BMW connected to the Internet?
As with all new BMW cars, a built-in SIM card is an integral part in being able to establish a WiFi connection. Passengers can surf the internet or use streaming services for music and videos. You have the choice of connecting any device to the WiFi or using the built-in infotainment system. In the Communication section on your BMW communication screen follow to Mobile Devices, select New Device, select Internet Apps, and continue to follow prompts to complete connection to your WiFi.
