ConnectedDrive comes standard on most BMW models for three years, and there is a price to continue after that point. Find your vehicle’s VIN number, and enter it into the BMW software portal to check for required updates. Download the updates, and save them to a USB drive that you can take with you to your vehicle. Plug the USB drive into any of your BMW vehicle’s USB ports, and transfer the updates.The BMW Remote Software Upgrade offers you two ways to download the new software: either via the My BMW App or automatically via your vehicle’s cellular connection. Once the download is complete, you will be prompted to confirm the installation of the new software and to start it.Updating your BMW software via BMW ConnectedDrive is free of charge. The cost of BimmerTech’s iDrive software update starts at $299.
