Is Subaru owned by Toyota now?
Toyota owns 20% of the stock. They don’t control Subaru. The co development is unrelated to their stock ownership. They are a minority share holder at best. Subaru operates as an independent company despite Toyota’s 20% stake. This allows Subaru to produce platforms, engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and other technologies independently of Toyota, except on partnership projects.
